Southport

The crowds were out in force for this year’s 24 hour Yacht Race held on Southport’s Marine Lake by the West Lancs Yacht Club. Beautiful sunny skies shone down on racers and spectators, where in some previous years the race has been a stormy affair in the cold and rain. However the calm conditions made for tricky conditions and, with only light winds, competitors had to use all their skill to make headway.
